IGET Bar Plus S3: Kit or Pods, What to Buy Aus
The Bar Plus S3 is the only IGET in the range that separates the battery from the liquid. That changes what you buy and, after the first purchase, what it costs. This trips people up regularly, so here it is plainly.
Two different products
The Bar Plus S3 kit is the rechargeable body plus one pod. Buy this once. The body has the battery, the USB-C port and the electronics, and it keeps working through dozens of pods.
The Bar Plus S3 pods are the refills. Each pod is pre-filled, holds its own fresh mesh coil, and clicks onto the body magnetically. When a pod is empty you throw that pod away and click on the next one.
If you already own a body, you only ever need pods. Buying another kit just gets you a second body you do not need.
Which pod size
Pods come in two capacities. The 6,000 puff pod holds 16 mL and is the standard. The 10,000 puff pod holds 20 mL and fits the same body, so you can move between them freely depending on what is in stock and what flavour you want.
Per puff the larger pod is the better value, but the smaller one is the better way to try a flavour you are unsure about.
What it costs to run
The maths is what makes this system attractive. The kit is a one off. After that you are buying pods only, and a pod costs well under the price of a comparable all in one device because you are not paying for a new battery each time.
For someone at around 400 puffs a day, a 6,000 puff pod runs about two weeks and a 10,000 pod runs about three and a half. Buying pods in threes or in a ten pack drops the per pod price again, which is where most regular customers end up.
Fitting a pod properly
Push the pod onto the body until the magnets seat with a click. Then leave it standing upright for a minute or two before the first puff so the cotton absorbs liquid. Take two gentle draws before a normal one.
Skipping that step is the single biggest cause of a brand new pod tasting burnt, and once a coil scorches it cannot be recovered.
Who it suits
Buy the pod system if you vape daily, you already know the flavours you like, and you want the lowest ongoing cost. Buy a sealed device instead if you vape occasionally or you are still working out what you enjoy, because the flexibility of the pod system only pays off with regular use.
