How to Check Your IGET Vape Is Genuine in Australia
Counterfeit IGET devices exist, and the difference is not always obvious from a photo. Every genuine IGET carries a security code you can verify yourself in under a minute. Here is exactly where to look and what to expect.
Find the scratch-off code
Turn the retail box over. On the back or the base you will find a silver panel roughly the size of a fingernail. Scratch it gently with a coin and a code of letters and numbers appears underneath. On some production runs the panel sits under the flap rather than on the outer face, so check inside the box if the outside looks bare.
The panel should be intact when the device reaches you. If the silver is already scratched away, the code has been read before, which means either the box has been opened or the code has been used to fake a verification. Either way, raise it with the seller.
Verify it on the official checker
Enter the code on the official IGET security page. A genuine code returns a confirmation the first time it is checked. Check the same code again and the site will normally tell you how many times it has been queried, which is itself useful. A first check that comes back as already queried several times is a warning sign.
A code that returns nothing at all is the clearest problem. Genuine codes are registered before devices ship, so an unknown code means the device did not come off an official line.
What the packaging should look like
Genuine retail boxes are printed sharply. The IGET wordmark should have clean edges rather than the slight fuzziness you get from a rescanned image. Colours on the flavour artwork are saturated and consistent between devices in the same carton.
Check the printed details too. The puff rating, the nicotine content, the batch information and the warning text should all be present and legible. Missing or misspelled warning text is a common giveaway on copies.
The device itself should feel solid with no rattle. The mouthpiece should be firmly seated with no visible glue. On rechargeable models the USB-C port should sit square in its housing rather than at an angle.
Buy from stock held in Australia
The simplest protection is buying from a seller who holds stock locally and will tell you where it comes from. Devices shipped direct from overseas pass through more hands and can sit in customs, and if something is wrong you have far less recourse.

What to do with a suspect device
Stop using it. A counterfeit has not been through the same manufacturing checks, and the parts you cannot inspect are the battery and the coil. Photograph the box, the code panel and the device, then take it up with whoever sold it to you.
