Disposable vs Rechargeable IGET Vapes Compared Aus
The IGET range splits into sealed single use devices and rechargeable ones. Which is better depends almost entirely on how often you vape, and the break even point is easy to work out.
The three formats
Sealed single use, like the Bar 3500, has no port and no serviceable parts. You use it and replace it.
Rechargeable all in one, like the One 12000 and the Bar Pro, charges over USB-C but the liquid is still sealed in. You replace the whole device when the liquid is gone, but you get far more out of it first.
Rechargeable with replaceable pods, the Bar Plus S3, keeps the battery and replaces only the liquid. This is the only format where the expensive part is reused.
Cost, worked through
Take someone at 400 puffs a day, which is fairly typical. That is about 12,000 puffs a month.
On the sealed Bar that is roughly three and a half devices a month. On the One 12000 it is a single device. On the pod system it is around two 6,000 puff pods, or a little over one 10,000 pod, plus a body you already own.
Run those against the prices and the sealed device is comfortably the most expensive way to vape daily, the rechargeable all in one is substantially better, and the pod system is cheapest of all once the first kit is paid for.
The break even point
Roughly 200 puffs a day. Below that, a sealed device lasts more than two weeks and the convenience is worth the premium. Above it, you are replacing devices often enough that the rechargeable formats pay for themselves within the first month.
Convenience cuts both ways
Sealed devices never need a cable and never go flat unexpectedly, which genuinely matters if you travel or forget chargers. Rechargeable devices give consistent power right to the end, because you are never vaping on a sagging battery, and the pod system means a flavour change takes ten seconds rather than a new purchase.
Waste
This is where the difference is starkest. A sealed device throws away a lithium battery every few days. The pod system throws away a small plastic pod and keeps the battery for months. If that matters to you, the pod system is the clear answer.
Whichever you use, dead devices and batteries belong at a battery recycling point rather than in household waste. Many supermarkets and council depots take them.
